Receiving immediate assistance after falling is crucial, but what if you are unable to push the button on your medical alert device? This can only make matters worse, but luckily with Medical Guardian, you can still receive help in an emergency – even if you are unconscious – with our Automatic Fall Detection pendant.

On June 30, 79-year-old Frances N. from Wichita, Kansas, purchased our Home Guardian from Life Safety Consultant George Marquez. To add an extra layer of protection, Frances also purchased our Automatic Fall Detection pendant. It’s a good thing she did, too, because it was only a few months later on October 15 when this tiny device saved her life.

At 3:38 p.m., Medical Guardian emergency operator John received a detected fall alarm from Frances’ pendant. After he didn’t receive any response from Frances, John immediately dispatched emergency services to her home and continued to call her emergency contacts.

Later at 4:05 p.m., John received a call from Frances’ Home Guardian base station and spoke with Frances’ daughter Shelli, who had gone to her mother’s home after receiving John’s voicemails concerning her mother’s detected fall alarm. Shelli was able to confirm that EMTs were on the scene to help her unconscious mother up off the floor, and she was so grateful that her mother was able to receive help when she needed it most.

It’s a sad reality that without her Automatic Fall Detection pendant, Frances could have been lying on the floor for hours without being able to receive the medical attention she needed, proving the importance of preparing for any type of emergency that may occur.
