The Medical Alert Bracelet, Reimagined

A medical alert bracelet is a safe and convenient way to remain protected on the go or at home. A medical alert bracelet is a small, discreet device attached to a wristband and worn like a watch. Many come with smartwatch features, like step tracking, while others are simply buttons you can push for help. They are easily tucked under a shirt or jacket sleeve and are low maintenance.

Purchasing a Medical Alert Bracelet

Wearing a device on your wrist is easy and convenient. The button is within reach in an emergency, and you can easily speak into the device to talk with an emergency operator. Some devices, like our MGMove Smartwatch, are feature-rich, measure activity, offer reminders, and more. Once you attach a medical alert bracelet to your wrist, it discreetly tucks under your sleeve. You can go for a walk, cook, or shower, knowing you have an extra layer of protection. Just attach it to your wrist, and you’re ready for the day!

A Medical Alert Bracelet That’s Right For You

Using a medical alert bracelet adds an extra layer of daily safety. Here are several reasons why most customers purchase a device worn on the wrist:

Certain Medications

Sedatives and other medications can put you at risk of falling. This is an added risk.

Chronic Medical Condition

Many chronic conditions put you at a higher risk of falling and sustaining an injury from that fall.

Active Lifestyle

Fall detection brings a layer of added security if you are outdoorsy, enjoy hiking, and engage in outdoor activities.

Live Alone

People who live alone are more vulnerable to injury because they may not have someone to help in an emergency. Our alerts are used for all types of emergencies, not just falls.

Balance Issues

Issues with your ears, brain, muscles and gait can cause you to feel off balance. If you’re dealing with these problems, a medical alert with fall detection is a good choice.

Medical Alert Bracelet With Fall Detection

When purchasing a medical alert bracelet, you can add-on automatic fall detection technology. Our devices use triaxial accelerometers, which measure vibrations in three areas of your body: at your waist, head to toe, and posterior upward. If your device senses an abrupt change in movement, it will activate the fall detection alert. This can also happen if you drop your device, which may cause a false alarm. But don’t worry, false alarms are expected and cancelling a false alert is easy. Simply tell the operator you do not need help. Because automatic fall detection does not catch 100% of falls, you should always push your help button after a fall.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need a medical alert device? Can't I just use my cell phone to call 911 in an emergency?

Unlike a cell phone, our medical alert devices are highly water-resistant wearable buttons, perfect for shower use. Additionally, a cell phone will not always be nearby in an emergency, making it an unreliable option when it comes to ensuring your safety. With our devices, however, you can rest assured that you will always have access to help by wearing a discreet and lightweight button around your neck, wrist, or on a clip. Our medical alert devices can also be used for more than just emergency situations including contacting a family member or loved one at the push of a button. The ease of use of our products with a single button press truly set our devices apart from your typical cell phone, especially in the case of an emergency.

Where are Medical Guardian's medical alert services available?

Our services are available in all 50 states. We also provide services in Puerto Rico and Canada, but device restrictions may apply.

Are Medical Guardian's medical alert systems covered by Medicare?

Standard Medicare does not cover the cost of a medical alert device. However, some Medicare Advantage plans (Medicare part C), may cover or reimburse you for the costs associated with a device. You would need to check with your specific Medicare Advantage provider to see if they would cover one of our devices. Medicaid may cover the cost of a medical alert device, depending on your plan and your state. Check with your Medicaid provider to see if they would cover one of our devices.

Do I need a landline to use a Medical Guardian medical alert system?

No. While our Classic Guardian requires a landline telephone connection, we offer another home-based medical alert device, Home 2.0, and two mobile products, Mobile 2.0 and Mini Guardian, that use a nationwide cellular network to contact our 24/7 monitoring center at no extra cost to you.

Where is Medical Guardian's monitoring center located?

Our monitoring center is located right here in the United States, so you never have to worry about experiencing any language barriers in an emergency.
